General impression among public is when in power, no one can question the ruling party. That is the reason why many ruling party politicians do not fear investigating officials. However in the coming years courts are dispelling that notion. According to the latest Supreme Court today shocked BJP top brass by sending notices to seniors like Advani regarding Babri Masjid demolition case.
Chief Justice of Supreme Court HL.Dattu who headed the bench served notices to Lal Krishna Advani and 19 others hearing to a plea filed by Haji Mahboob Ahmad, one of the petitioners in the Babri Masjid demolition case alleging that CBI diluted its stance after BJP came to power at the centre.
Supreme Court questioned why CBI did not persuade the court on the justification for delaying in challenging the high court order. Allahabad High Court in 2011 discharged Advani and other leaders like Murali Manohar Joshi along with various hindu outfits of any criminal conspiracy. It has to be seen how BJP will react to it since it is in the government. Opposition will surely take this issue and use it as a weapon to embarrass the government.
