The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is a very holy institution, and the SVBC channel that the institution runs is watched by millions of people all around the world. The channel’s Shatamanam Bhavati Programme – where devotees who wish to greet their relatives’ friends or family have to send their pictures – is greatly watched by a lot of viewers.
When one ardent viewer of the show recently mailed SVBC for a link to the Shatamanam Bhavati Programme, one of the employees of SVBC accidentally sent a link to a Adult video, instead of the actual video, to the viewer. After receiving the offensive link, the viewer complained about the same to the concerned TTD authorities.
Following the complaint of the viewer, the TTD Chairman YV Subba Reddy and Executive Officer of TTD, KS Jawahar Reddy ordered a probe into the incident. The officials of TTD Vigilance and Cyber Crime Team carried out surprise inspections at SVBC office. During these inspections, the TTD officials found out that one employee was watching a Adult video while working. Nearly 25 other officials have been identified to be watching adult videos as well, during their working hours.
The TTD has been receiving a lot of flak for this incident, and devotees all over the world are expressing concerns over the way the TTD officials are working. It is indeed shameful to see that members of such a pious institution are indulging in such disgusting things, especially during their hours of work. No one would have judged them in case they were up to such a thing during their leisure time. However, it is not ethical of them to be doing such things during their working hours.
