During his tenure as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy repeatedly mocked Pawan Kalyan by calling him “Dattaputrudu” (foster son), implying that he was merely a political creation designed to support Chandrababu Naidu. Many felt that such remarks were inappropriate, especially coming from a sitting Chief Minister.
Now, in an ironic twist, Jagan’s own sister, YS Sharmila, has turned the same term against him.
Responding to Botsa Satyanarayana’s recent remark that she is simply sitting at home and tweeting about Jagan, Sharmila had a sharp rebuttal.
“Botsa’s comment completely took me by surprise. I am appalled by their reluctance to fulfill the responsibility entrusted to them by the people of Andhra Pradesh. In the five years that Jagan was CM, he went against the aspirations of our father, YSR, and became a ‘Dattaputrudu’ for BJP and Modi. This is why he was restricted to just 11 seats and lost the status of Opposition Leader,” Sharmila stated.
The irony is undeniable—the very label Jagan once used to demean Pawan Kalyan has now been turned against him, and that too by his own sister. This situation underscores how political narratives can come full circle, serving as a reminder that personal attacks in politics often have lasting repercussions.
