The makers of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘NTR’, an epic biopic on legendary actor and Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh NT Rama Rao, are planning to release the movie for Sankranthi next year. Apart from reprising his father, Balakrishna is also co-producing the movie.
Balakrishna is hell-bent on making NTR with high technical standards. Since the film will also be released in Hindi, Balayya and the entire team are keen on casting national award winning Bollywood actress Vidya Balan to play NT Rama Rao’s wife Basavatarakam in the biopic.
Even though Vidya Balan has agreed to act in the movie in principle, she is yet to sign the agreement or take the advance remuneration. She is said to have imposed certain conditions to NTR’s team. Apparently, Vidya’s managers have expressed their concerns with her, saying that since the movie is based on NTR his wife’s role maybe limited.
Vidya is said to be insisting NTR’s makers on writing it in the agreement that all her scenes will be retained in the film’s theatrical version and that her role must not be chopped off and make it look like a guest character. NTR will mark Vidya’s debut in Tollywood and she is in no mood to take it lightly. After all, she’s known for her female-oriented movies.
