Shruti Haasan recently shared a heartfelt moment from her musical journey, describing her meeting with legendary composer A.R. Rahman as truly “life-changing.” Speaking candidly, Shruti revealed that while she deeply admires many artists, she often hesitates to meet them, fearing it might change the way she perceives their work.

“I met Tori Amos in London and ended up crying like a total fangirl,” Shruti recalled with a laugh. “So when it came to meeting Rahman sir, I was super anxious. But he turned out to be so evolved, kind, and wonderful. Meeting him only strengthened my respect for his music.” She also shared that growing up listening to Rahman’s compositions — and later getting the opportunity to collaborate with him — has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of her career.

Shruti and Rahman’s collaborations have produced memorable works such as the vibrant “It’s A Break Up Da” from Kadhalikka Neramillai, the Tamil anthem “Semmozhi,” and a soulful MTV Unplugged performance of “Ranjha Ranjha.”

On the acting front, Shruti is gearing up for a thrilling year ahead. She will be seen alongside superstars Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna in the much-anticipated action drama Coolie. Additionally, she is set to make her international film debut with The Eye, scheduled for release later in 2025.
