Siddhu Jonnalagadda, who has been part of Telugu cinema for over a decade, rose to fame with DJ Tillu and scored his first ₹100-crore blockbuster with Tillu Square. However, his recent release Jack failed at the box office. Now, Siddhu is gearing up for his next project Telusu Kada, a romantic drama directed by Neeraja Kona, slated for release this Diwali on October 17.
In a recent interview, Siddhu opened up about his journey beyond acting. He revealed that during his early career, with films like Guntur Talkies, he wasn’t offered ready scripts. To survive, he had to learn writing and filmmaking. “I just wanted to act, but circumstances pushed me into getting involved in filmmaking. That’s how I picked up writing and production skills,” he said.
Talking about his new film Telusu Kada, Siddhu disclosed that the project carries a ₹50-crore budget — yet no formal agreement exists between him and the producers. “I need to make sure the film goes right. Even the producers ask me to oversee the project,” he admitted. His next film, Badass, has an even bigger budget of ₹60 crores, also without agreements.
Siddhu also addressed the financial risks he faces as an actor. After Jack’s failure, he returned ₹4.75 crores to the producers without hesitation. “I didn’t think twice. My only focus was clearing the loan I had taken,” he shared.
Telusu Kada features Siddhu Jonnalagadda alongside Raashii Khanna, Srinidhi Shetty, and Harsha Chemudu. The film is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under People Media Factory, with music composed by Thaman.
