SIT to Issue Notices to KCR in Telangana Phone Tapping Case

Share

The phone tapping investigation in Telangana appears to be entering a critical phase, with reports indicating that the SIT is preparing to issue notices to former Chief Minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).

The Congress government had set up the SIT following allegations that illegal phone tapping occurred during the BRS regime. The investigation has been ongoing for nearly two years, during which BRS leaders, including KTR and Harish Rao, had mocked the prolonged probe, comparing it to a never-ending television serial.

In a new development, sources suggest that SIT officials are set to serve notices to KCR in connection with the case. The team is reportedly planning to visit KCR’s farmhouse at Erravalli soon to hand over the notices. There is also speculation that questioning may take place at the farmhouse itself on Thursday, though no official confirmation has been provided regarding the mode or location of the inquiry.

Until now, it was generally expected that leaders like Kavitha would be summoned next, following the questioning of Harish Rao, KTR, and Santosh. The sudden inclusion of KCR has therefore captured widespread attention.

The timing of this development adds political significance, as Telangana prepares for upcoming municipal elections. Consequently, the move to issue SIT notices to KCR has become a major talking point in political circles. An official statement from the SIT is awaited to clarify the next steps in the investigation.
