In what is considered as a first major cabinet reshuffle in PM Narendra Modi’s government, Smriti Irani is dropped as the Minister of Human Resource Department. Smriti has been moved to Textiles Ministry. Prakash Javadekar, who was I&B Minister, has been promoted to Cabinet minister in the expansion and given the opportunity to helm HRD Ministry.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu given charge of I&B Ministry as he himself good orator and has well understanding on media functioning. Ravi Shankar Prasad has replaced Sadananda Gowda as Union Law Minister.
Vijay Goel has got Sports Ministry. Modi has inducted 19 new ministers into his Cabinet in the Cabinet reshuffle made on Tuesday and he carried out major changes in the portfolios of his top ministers.
