A farmer from Pune district has filed a civil lawsuit against Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre and her filmmaker husband Goldie Behl, alleging land encroachment and “mafia-style” intimidation. The actress has strongly denied the accusations, calling them an attempt to extort money and clarifying that her name does not appear in any land purchase documents.
The complaint was filed by Chandrakant Balu Shinde and his mother Kamalbai before a civil court in Vadgaon Maval through their advocate. The case is scheduled for its next hearing on April 24. According to the petition, the Shinde family has been cultivating the disputed land in Uksan village as “protected tenants” since the 1940s.
The family further alleged that their names were unlawfully removed from revenue records in the 1980s without any formal notice. The dispute escalated after the original landowners reportedly sold the property to a local buyer in 2012, who later sold a portion of it to Goldie Behl in March 2021.
Claiming that these transactions are “illegal and void,” the plaintiffs argue that their tenancy rights were never legally terminated. They have also accused the celebrity couple of using influence and local police support to take control of the land.
As per the lawsuit, tensions peaked on December 14, 2025, when Sonali Bendre and Goldie Behl allegedly arrived at the site with workers and machinery to begin construction. When Kamalbai objected, she was reportedly threatened. The family also claimed that police officials present at the spot warned them of false theft cases if they continued to resist.
Responding to the allegations, Sonali Bendre’s legal team dismissed the claims as baseless. Her lawyer stated that she has no direct involvement in the land transaction and described the case as a fabricated attempt to extract money.
