Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi got shock of their lives when people wiped them from most of the parts in the recently conducted assembly elections in five states which were viewed as semi finals in the runup for 2014 general elections.
Sonia and Rahul, to salvage situation, conducted a double strike. They first passed Lokpal bill in the parliament the moment Anna Hazare went on fast demanding Jan Lokpal bill. Anna Hazare even praised Rahul Gandhi for the passage of the bill. At the sametime Congress did a complete U turn and after getting wiped out in Delhi decided to extend support to Aam Aadmi Party headed by Kejriwal.
Now the question is will this double strike to marginalise Aam Aadmi Party’s rise and dent its corruption slogan, catapult Congress party to power in the next elections or not?
