Nidhhi Agerwal Clarifies Telugu Comment Amidst Misunderstanding
Nidhhi Agerwal has been eagerly awaiting the release of her Telugu films over the past few years, with two major projects, The Raja Saab and Hari Hara Veeramallu, set to hit screens this year. Recently, she engaged with her fans on X, where a comment about speaking Telugu was misinterpreted by some as a satire aimed at actress Kajal Aggarwal. Nidhhi has since clarified her statement to clear up any misunderstandings.
In a recent YouTube interview, Nidhhi addressed the stereotype often associated with Mumbai and North Indian actresses in the Telugu film industry, specifically the trend of not making an effort to learn the language, despite being in the industry for years. Acknowledging this, Nidhhi emphasized her dedication to learning Telugu, driven by the love and support of the Telugu audience.
During the interaction, she had commented, “Naku Telugu vastundi, Nenu Andhariki Namaskaram batch kadu,” referring to how many heroines in the industry only say the phrase Andhariki Namaskaram in Telugu and then continue in English. Though this remark wasn’t aimed at anyone, many assumed she was indirectly referring to Kajal Aggarwal, who had been known to say the phrase frequently despite being in the industry for a long time.
Nidhhi made it clear that her comment was not intended as a criticism of Kajal or any other actress. She acknowledged that while she initially struggled with the language, she worked hard to learn it and now feels confident speaking Telugu. Nidhhi’s clarification sought to put any rumors to rest and reiterate that her statement was not directed at any individual, but was a broader reflection of her own learning journey.
