Mohanlal’s Daughter Vismaya to Debut; Star Kids Success Through Talent

In any film industry, once celebrities reach a certain stature, they often aim to introduce their children to the same field. Over the years, many star kids have entered the industry, but having a film background doesn’t guarantee sustained success. While it can help with an entry or a couple of opportunities, consistent recognition comes only through talent and hard work—a fact that many star kids themselves have acknowledged.

However, one superstar has surprised everyone by stating that he doesn’t want his children to rely solely on his name to succeed. Moreover, he has clarified his stance regarding his daughter’s entry into films. The superstar in question is Malayalam icon Mohanlal. Like other stars, he is set to introduce his daughter, Vismaya, to the silver screen through the movie Thudakkam. Mohanlal fans are excited about her debut, which marks a new chapter for the family in cinema.

In a recent interview, Mohanlal spoke about his daughter’s debut, saying, “Vismaya has always expressed her interest in acting. But I never expected my children to become great just because of me. It’s their talent that will bring them recognition, and that’s what will guide their journey. When they told me about entering the industry, I gave them the same advice.”

Mohanlal’s son, Pranav, had already made his cinematic debut back in 2018. With his daughter now stepping into films, fans have extended a grand welcome to her as well. Mohanlal’s emphasis on his children living in reality and earning recognition through merit has been widely praised by netizens.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal recently resigned as president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), citing increasing instances of harassment against women in the industry. This led to elections being held earlier than scheduled for 2027, resulting in Shweta Menon being elected as the new president. Her election is notable as she becomes the first woman in 31 years to hold this position. Mohanlal expressed his happiness and assured AMMA of his support, encouraging new members to join the association, which currently has 560 members.
