Sreeleela’s ₹7 Cr Fee Rumours Dismissed by Industry

Speculation surrounding Telugu actress Sreeleela allegedly demanding ₹7 crore per film has stirred debate in film circles. However, top industry insiders have brushed off the claims, calling them “wildly exaggerated” and “baseless.”

A leading Telugu film producer, speaking on condition of anonymity, clarified, “No Telugu heroine is currently commanding ₹7 or ₹8 crore. These numbers are inflated and far from reality.” According to him, even the most sought-after actresses in the South, including Rashmika Mandanna, Tamannaah Bhatia, Janhvi Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, Shruti Haasan, and Sreeleela, generally charge between ₹3 to ₹5 crore per project.

“Rashmika may command slightly more due to her pan-India appeal and recent hits, possibly touching ₹5 crore, but no one has crossed the ₹7 crore barrier,” the producer added.

The disparity becomes even more evident when compared with top-tier Bollywood actresses. For instance, Priyanka Chopra is reportedly earning ₹30 crore for the upcoming SSMM29, while Deepika Padukone took home nearly ₹20 crore for her role in Kalki 2898 AD. Producers argue that these hefty paycheques go beyond acting skills — they reflect the global brand value of the actresses.

“These stars bring more than talent — they bring enormous visibility. Their international brand endorsements and huge social media presence translate into better reach and marketing pull,” the insider explained.

Despite Telugu cinema’s growing national and global footprint, a significant pay gap persists. Southern actresses continue to earn less than their Bollywood counterparts, even as their popularity and box-office pull increase steadily.
