‘Telugu offers nothing much to perform, just they need glamour and we in turn get huge pay packet’, said Sridevi sometime back, kicking in the hornet’s nest. After moving to Bollywood, Sridevi never considered acting in Telugu movies unless she is doled out a bomb to come to Hyderabad. Also her take remained same forever that Tamil and Bollywood flicks have some female-centric scripts whereas there is nothing sorts of in Tollywood.
Echoing similar opinion, Ileana too kept Tollywood off her radar once getting good work in Hindi movies. Though she remained loyal to Telugu audiences by attributing her stardom to their patronage, she never showed interest in Telugu movies, as they are purely commercial ones needing only her glamorous side. According to a popular daily, even Samantha too opined similarly.
‘Telugu movies are far away from female-centric scripts. There is need of glamour only’, Sam said, while interacting with media in Chennai. Probably this is the time our makers should think why these ravishing starlets are feeling averse about Telugu movies after a time. Because after making these comments, eventually those starlets are moving away from Telugu tinsel town. That’s reality.
