Fans eager to witness a powerful big-screen moment between Shah Rukh Khan and Rajinikanth might have to wait a little longer. Reports suggest that SRK has declined a cameo appearance in Jailer 2, much to the disappointment of fans who were excited about this potential collaboration.
According to sources, Shah Rukh Khan is currently prioritizing his upcoming film King, which holds special significance as it marks the theatrical debut of his daughter, Suhana Khan. While the superstar was initially open to doing a short cameo in Jailer 2, scheduling conflicts and his commitment to King appear to have taken priority.
It is said that SRK even proposed adjusting the release timing of Jailer 2 to ensure his cameo didn’t clash with King, wanting to keep both appearances distinct. However, the makers reportedly couldn’t align with this request, leading to the plan being dropped.
The buzz around SRK’s cameo had been circulating since mid-2025, generating massive excitement about a possible on-screen moment between two of Indian cinema’s biggest icons. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 is the sequel to the blockbuster Jailer (2023), continuing the story of a fierce former jailer played by Rajinikanth, who is once again drawn into a gripping world of crime, justice, and revenge.
For now, the much-anticipated collaboration remains on hold, as SRK focuses on King, leaving fans hopeful for a future project that brings these legends together.
