It looks like stage is set for the arrest of Telugu Desam Party MLA and deputy leader of TD legislature party Kinjarapu Atchen Naidu any time.
According to reports in a section of media, the Thulluru police have readied the arrest warrant for Atchen Naidu for allegedly abusing the police officials on duty at the residence of TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the occasion of Chalo Atmakur rally.
Another case has already been pending against Atchen Naidu at Tekkali police station and the police there also are ready with the arrest warrant. So, he might be arrested any time from now.
However, the police are maintaining restraint in view of the tense situation prevailing in the state following the suicide of former assembly speaker Kodela Sivarprasada Rao, sources said.
It is learnt Atchen Naidu has already started efforts for obtaining anticipatory bail to preempt his arrest by the police in Amaravati.
Meanwhile, there are reports that former government whip Kuna Ravi Kumar, who has been underground for quite some to avoid being arrested, is desperately trying to get the bail.
The bail petition was moved on Tuesday, but the hearing was posted to Monday next in the wake of non-availability of his advocate. He will have to continue in the underground till then, sources said.
