Big B Amitabh Bachchan scored a phenomenal hit with his blockbuster Sholay in 1975. The film broke many records in Bollywood during that time elevating Amitabh’s image. Film had a star studded cast of Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini,Jaya Bhaduri, Amjad Khan and is directed by Ramesh Sippy.
There is no one who never watched Sholay even once. However Amitabh Bachchan’s son Abhishek revealed that he never watched the yesteryear classic on big screen though he watched many times in DVDs and TV. Abhishek said “I am very excited to see it on the big screen. I have seen Sholay 100 times on TV and DVD, but never seen it onscreen. So, I am super excited about it,”.
He added “I asked my friend Rohan when ‘Sholay’ was about to complete 25 years – ‘Why don’t you digitally re-master it and re-release it?’. There were few issues with the rights and we couldn’t do it,”.Film makers are releasing Sholay’s 3D version on its 25th Anniversary.”Sholay 3D”, presented by Pen India Pvt. Ltd, is slated to be released Jan 3.
