Director Sujeeth has subtly indicated that his film OG could pave the way for a second part, though the exact roadmap remains undecided. For now, the team is relishing the film’s success.
In a recent interview, Sujeeth revealed that they are yet to finalize whether the next installment will be a prequel or a sequel. However, he added that the plan is to shoot both versions simultaneously and release them together, similar to how the Baahubali franchise was executed with precise clarity. This approach suggests Sujeeth’s intent to expand OG into a larger cinematic universe without waiting for the outcome of each film.
Music director Thaman, who was also present during the interaction, emphasized that OG has the potential to sustain as a universe for the next decade. Sujeeth further explained that the current film only showcased a glimpse of Pawan Kalyan’s character and that much of his backstory, including his journey in Japan and the aftermath of Arjun Das’ takeover of the port, remains unexplored. These untouched subplots could form the foundation of future parts.
Meanwhile, fans are eager for Pawan Kalyan to allocate dates for OG should he decide to continue acting after the release of Ustaad Bhagat Singh. Given his political and administrative responsibilities, it remains to be seen whether his schedule will allow him to return for the franchise’s ambitious expansion.
