Nagarjuna Akkineni, one of Telugu cinema’s most celebrated actors, recently opened up about the ups and downs of his illustrious career and the challenges he faced at its inception. Being the son of legendary actor ANR, Nagarjuna initially grappled with the perception that his success was solely due to his lineage. “People were watching the movie because of my father and they wanted to see me how I will fare. But I later decided to go after my calling,” he shared.

Nagarjuna credited films like Aakhari Poratam and Majnu for providing him crucial opportunities to showcase his talent, with Majnu marking a significant breakthrough. Demonstrating his relentless determination, he recounted pursuing director Mani Ratnam for six months to bring Geethanjali to life. “I used to land up at his office every day at 6 AM… He initially wanted to do it in Tamil, but I suggested it be made in Telugu so his market would grow,” he explained.

Most recently, Nagarjuna appeared in Coolie, starring alongside Superstar Rajinikanth, further solidifying his position in the film industry. His journey exemplifies resilience, dedication, and the pursuit of genuine artistic calling, beyond familial legacy.
