After the massive success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol continues his winning streak at the box office with Border 2, which has already crossed ₹100 crore and is on track to reach ₹150 crore before the next weekend. Between Gadar 2 and Border 2, Sunny also scored another hit with Jaat, further cementing his superstar status and raising his fee to ₹50 crore.
Sunny is now set to collaborate for the first time with actress Jyotika in an action-drama produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment.
Renowned filmmaker Raj Kumar Santoshi, who is also working with Sunny on the upcoming film 1947: Lahore, said, “I have worked with him when he was raw and anxious in Ghayal and Ghatak; and I’ve worked with him now in 1947. Sunny’s sincerity is the same.” Meanwhile, Gadar director Anil Sharma added, “You have to hand it to Sunny Paaji for showing the world what a true blue star is. No fudged box office figures, no corporate bookings… Gadar 2 and Border 2 are straightforward, legitimate all-time blockbusters.”
A special screening of Border 2 was hosted in Mumbai on January 25, attended by Sunny’s half-sisters Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. After watching the film, Esha praised Sunny’s performance on Instagram, writing, “We watched the film last night @iamsunnydeol, you are the best.” Sunny also posed for pictures with his half-siblings, celebrating yet another milestone in his illustrious career.
