The highly debated skill development case filed against Chandrababu Naidu by the previous YSR Congress government has now reached a significant conclusion at the Supreme Court. The judgment delivered by the court is a major relief for Chandrababu.
Previously, under the leadership of then-Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, the AP government had petitioned the Supreme Court seeking cancellation of the bail granted to Chandrababu in November 2023. Despite the change in political landscape following YCP’s electoral defeat, legal proceedings on the bail cancellation petition continued.
Today’s penultimate hearing marked a crucial turn, with the Supreme Court dismissing the petition. Justice Bela Trivedi clarified that since the chargesheet had already been filed and the investigation was progressing, there was no valid reason to revoke Chandrababu’s bail.
Had YCP retained power, this petition could have posed serious risks to Chandrababu. However, with time, the case gradually lost its significance, culminating in its dismissal today.
