Even as Kanguva faces a lukewarm response at the box office, Suriya isn’t hitting the brakes. The versatile star is charging ahead with a packed lineup, starting with the retro-themed film Retro, set to release on May 1, where he stars opposite Pooja Hegde. But that’s just the beginning—buzz is building fast around his upcoming collaboration with Telugu director Venky Atluri, backed by Sithara Entertainments.
Reports suggest this yet-untitled film will feature two leading ladies, and the speculation around casting is heating up. Samyuktha Menon is currently the frontrunner for one of the roles. Having already delivered hits like Bheemla Nayak and Sir under the same banner, this would mark her third consecutive collaboration with Sithara Entertainments if finalized—a potential hat-trick.
Another name making the rounds is Bhagyashri Borse, though no official confirmation has been made yet. With the film still in its pre-production stage, sources say the casting will be finalized soon, with shooting expected to begin shortly.
This project is seen as a crucial comeback vehicle for both Suriya and the team after recent setbacks, and expectations are sky-high.
Meanwhile, Suriya’s long-awaited film Vadivasal, directed by the acclaimed Vetrimaaran, is also inching forward. Shooting for the project is set to kick off in July, and G.V. Prakash Kumar has already wrapped up a track for the film’s music.
Despite the ups and downs, one thing is clear—Suriya is in no mood to slow down, and his upcoming slate is only getting more exciting.
