Kollywood’s dynamic star Suriya is gearing up to set the screens ablaze with his upcoming film Karuppu, an intense, raw action drama directed by RJ Balaji. This marks a bold departure in style for both Suriya and Balaji, with the first-look poster already creating a sensation for its striking visuals and powerful mass appeal.
In the poster, Suriya is seen walking confidently through a vibrant ceremonial gathering, surrounded by costumed performers and traditional drummers. Sporting a black shirt, lungi, kohl-rimmed eyes concealed by sunglasses, and a cigarette perched on his lips, Suriya exudes a rugged charisma — like a storm about to unleash.
The film, produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabu under Dream Warrior Pictures, draws heavily from native folk traditions and rural mythology. Suriya’s character is said to embody divine rage and justice, presenting him in a fierce new avatar unlike any before.
Adding to the excitement is the reunion of Suriya and Trisha Krishnan, who are sharing the screen together after nearly two decades, bringing a touch of nostalgia to this gritty action saga.
With music composed by Sai Abhyankar and visuals captured by acclaimed cinematographer GK Vishnu, Karuppu promises a visually rich and emotionally intense experience. Filming is almost complete, and post-production is in full swing. The film is gearing up for its theatrical release, with fans eagerly awaiting Suriya’s powerful return to the mass-action genre.
