Interestingly, Rajya Sabha MP elected from Andhra Pradesh Suresh Prabhu has been allotted the ministry of Civil Aviation portfolio which fell vacant after the TDP leader Ashok Gajapathi Raju quit the post on special status issue.
Suresh Prabhu was already Union minister for Commerce and Industry int eh Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s union cabinet. Suresh was elected MP from Andhra as part of the TDP and BJP alliance forged in 2014 elections. Under the agreement, TDP alloted one Rajya MP post post to the BJP. Suresh was elected MP in May 2016.
Hailed from Maharastra, Suresh Prabhu was charted accountant before plunging into active politics. Since he was elected from Andhra, the BJP leader gave special attention to AP in promoting investments in manufacturing and services sectors in the recent times.
