Swapna Dutt Says She Doesn’t Make Films For Records!

The highly anticipated sci-fi extravaganza “Kalki 2898 AD” has taken the box office by storm since its theatrical release. Fueled by immense pre-release hype, the film has shattered records in the overseas market, grossing a reported 185 crores worldwide on its opening day.

This phenomenal performance has ignited curiosity among fans eager for official confirmation of broken records and the film’s total earnings. The enthusiasm has reached such a peak that fans are reportedly contacting the film’s producers directly to inquire about these details.

Swapna Dutt Chalasani, one of the film’s producers, took to social media to address this influx of inquiries. In a lighthearted message, she stated, “It’s very amazing that people are calling or asking, Did we cross records? It’s hilarious because guys who create or created those records never make films for the records. We make for the audience. We make for the love of cinema. We did the same.”

Chalasani and her co-producer Priyanka Dutt have consistently prioritized strong content over box office collections throughout their careers. This philosophy is evident in their previous critically acclaimed films such as “Sita Ramam,” “Evade Subramanyam,” and “Mahanati.” Their commitment to quality content fueled their decision to undertake the ambitious 600 crore project that is “Kalki 2898 AD.”

While the producers themselves may not be overly concerned with breaking box office records, fans remain captivated by the film’s performance. Anticipation continues to build as audiences await the final box office figures for “Kalki 2898 AD.”

The film features Prabhas in the lead role of Bhairava, while the legendary Amitabh Bachchan portrays Ashwatthama. Deepika Padukone takes on the character of Sumathi, who is pregnant with Kalki. Rounding out the cast is Kamal Haasan as the villainous Supreme Yashkin. The film boasts numerous surprise cameo appearances that have delighted audiences.
