After the massive success of fantasy-driven films like Karthikeya, Karthikeya 2, and Karthikeya (yes, the franchise continues to impress even at the Bollywood box office), Telugu star Nikhil has firmly established himself as a bankable hero for epic fantasy movies. While some of his recent projects like 18 Pages and Spy didn’t meet expectations, Nikhil is now gearing up for a grand cinematic spectacle — the mega-budget epic Swayambhu, which has been in production for quite some time.
Initially, Swayambhu, directed by Bharat Krishnamachari, was slated for a pan-India release on February 13, 2026. However, pending Visual Effects work has reportedly pushed back post-production, and the film is now expected to release either this summer or in mid-2026. While the makers are yet to officially confirm the new date, insiders are confident that the wait will be worth it.
Nikhil has dedicated nearly two years to this project, honing his skills in stunts, horse riding, and other fantasy-epic preparations to bring authenticity to his role. Close associates, including filmmakers who have directed him in past blockbusters, claim that Swayambhu has turned out exceptionally well and is destined to be a grand blockbuster, irrespective of its release date.
The film stars Kannada beauty Nabha Natesh as the leading lady, with music composed by KGF fame Ravi Basrur, promising a larger-than-life cinematic experience for audiences everywhere.
