TDP In Plans to Checkmate Nani With Senior Leader’s Daughter?

The grand old Telugu Desam Party is facing a big issue with firebrand leader Kodali Nani. Though he started his career with TDP and served as MLA from the Gudivada constituency, he joined the YSRCP and he is one of the strong leaders in the party. He was made a Cabinet Minister too.

After joining the YSRCP, Kodali Nani became a strong critic of Telugu Desam Party and party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Not just criticizing the former Chief Minister, he uses foul language and the party leaders are unable to digest the news.

The party leadership is focusing to checkmate Kodali Nani and the previous attempts made by the party turned a big flop and the efforts in turn worked well for Kodali Nani.

The Telugu Desam Party wants to give a big shock to Kodali Nani by defeating him in his own stronghold Gudivada. As a shot in the arm in the efforts, the TDP leadership is said to be working on fielding a leader against him in the next polls.

Taking on a strong leader like Kodali Nani who is very strong in the constituency is not an easy task and various factors should be in favour of TDP and the party is focusing on the same.

If we have to take anything from the media reports, the TDP wants to place senior Telugu Desam Party leader Chalasani Venkateswara Rao, alias Pandu’s daughter, in Gudivada.

The veteran Telugu Desam Party netha has a good image in the constituency and this might work well for his daughter Devineni Smitha. The leader is loved by people in Krishna district irrespective of their communities and parties. This angle would work well for the party and Smitha.

On the flipside, the negative image of Kodali Nani might also work for Smitha. The objectionable language Kodali Nani speaks and the way he behaved when a few YSRCP leaders made unwanted comments against Chandrababu Naidu’s wife also brought a bit of negative image to him. If the TDP can bank on the same then it would be beneficial for the party. Looks like TDP is serious on the issue.
