Karnataka is gearing up for the crucial Assembly elections which will be held on May 12th. The ruling Congress party and the opposition BJP have taken this election as a matter of prestige. All the prominent central and state leaders like Modi, Amit Shah, Rahul Gandhi, Siddaramaiah and Yeddyurappa are leaving no stone unturned to gain the upper hand.
There is a sizeable number of Telugus living in various parts of Bengaluru and other places like Bidar, Bellary, Kolar, Kalaburugi and Chikballapur etc. In this scenario, the Telugu voters’ mandate will be a deciding factor in the upcoming Assembly polls.
Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishnamurthy even held a press conference in Bengaluru on Monday. He said that the Telugus of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana must not vote for the BJP because the Modi-led BJP has done gross injustice to Andhra Pradesh by not granting the promised special status.
There has also been a huge speculation that the Telugu Desam Party has sent special teams to all the areas in Karnataka where Telugus live in large numbers. Apparently, these TDP teams have requested all the Telugus to vote for any party except the BJP.
These teams also cautioned the Telugus in Karnataka that there will be serious differences between the North and South in future. Meanwhile, the TDP has denied sending any teams to Karnataka to smear campaign against the BJP.
