Congress Secretary Digvijay Singh has slammed BJP PM candidate Narender Modi as a person who sold tea at a bus stand in Gujarat all set to become prime minister of the country.
Singh said when a shepherd from Kerala could become Prime Minister why not a tea seller and wished at least Sushma Swaraj should have been projected by the party as PM candidate.
The BJP spokesman Ms Smriti Irani has however has lauded the Congress leaders comment on Modi. ‘Thank God Digvijay Singh ji has at least accepted the qualifications and eligibility of Narender Modi for the coveted post’.
She said the BJP was worried whether the Congress party and its leaders expected us to promote only Nehru-Gandhi family to the post as they were doing now.
