After scoring 310 runs against West Indies at second ODI match during the ongoing series, our batsmen helped team India to setup a new record in cricket world. While skipper Virat Kohli added 87 runs in off 66 balls, opener Shikar Dhawan had put 63 runs to scoreboard.
The Virat Kohli-led India team managed to win against West Indies by 105 runs. Also, team India scored 300+ runs for the 96th time on Sunday, surpassing Australia team that was holding the record of posting 300+ runs in 95 matches previously.
Following India (96) and Australia (95) are- 3. South Africa (77), 4. Pakistan (68), 5. Sri Lanka (62), 6. England (57) and 7. New Zealand (51). In 1996, India team breached the 300 mark for the first time against Pakistan at Sharjah. However, it’d be no wonder if we agree to the fact that India managed to post more number of 300+ runs in an ODI only after IPL kicked off in the country.
India will play its third ODI match against West Indies on 30th June.
