The two-day visit of Congress president Rahul Gandhi to Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts on Monday and Tuesday rejuvenated the party leaders and cadre, who were hitherto in a state of inaction all these days.According to party sources, Rahul came with a perfect plan of action to Telangana and a comprehensive understanding of the party position here.
Before coming to Hyderabad itself, he had studied the issues that were plaguing the party in Telangana and so, soon after coming here, he sought to address them one after the other. He held meetings with every leader individually, understood his or her problems and asked them to work together till the next elections. He did not give any commitment on the chief ministerial candidate.
“First let us focus on winning the elections. We shall sort out the issue of leadership later,” he said.Rahul also told the party leaders to be prepared for early assembly elections in the state, as hinted at by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.He told them he would tour Telangana at least once in a month. He asked him and AICC Telangana Incharge to constitute a committee to shortlist the aspirants so that the list of candidates could be released next month.
Rahul also appreciated the use of technology by the Telangana Congress in organisation building. After interacting with the presidents of 31,656 booth presidents through a tele-conference, he suggested that a similar tele-conference be organised in Delhi.
