The Telangana government has released guidelines for the implementation of the Rythu Bharosa scheme, which will take effect from January 26.
Under this scheme, farmers will receive crop investment support of ₹12,000 per acre annually.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation’s guidelines, financial assistance will be provided only for cultivable lands registered under Bhu Bharati, the state’s recently introduced land revenue system.
The support will be based on the extent of the land owned by farmers and will not apply to non-cultivable lands.
The guidelines also specify that cultivators eligible under the Recognition of Forest Rights Act will receive investment support.
District Collectors have been authorized to address grievances related to the scheme’s implementation.
The guidelines have been officially issued by the government in Telugu.
The financial assistance under the Rythu Bharosa scheme will be directly credited to the bank accounts of farmers through the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
The National Informatics Centre (NIC) will serve as the IT partner for the scheme’s implementation.
Rythu Bharosa will replace the previously implemented Rythu Bandhu scheme introduced by the former BRS government, which provided ₹10,000 per acre annually to farmers.
During a recent conference with District Collectors, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy emphasized that public funds were significantly misused under the Rythu Bandhu scheme implemented by the previous government.
He stressed that such errors should not be repeated and directed that all non-agricultural lands be strictly excluded from the benefits of the Rythu Bharosa scheme.
The Chief Minister clarified that the responsibility for ensuring that only eligible farmers receive benefits under Rythu Bharosa lies with the District Collectors. He instructed them to ensure no ineligible individual receives support under the scheme.
He further alleged that the previous government had extended Rythu Bandhu payments to real estate lands, layouts, lands converted into canals, mining areas, warehouse plots, function halls, and lands acquired for public projects and development works
