
In a significant bilateral meeting, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Christelle Luisier Brodard, Chief Minister of the Council of Vaud, Switzerland, discussed avenues for cooperation between Telangana and Switzerland. The talks took place against the backdrop of the India-Switzerland free-trade agreement.
Discussions focused on collaboration in culture, education, skilling, and training, with special emphasis on hospitality management and sports. Both sides also explored opportunities for sharing best practices in the retail and life sciences sectors.
During the meeting, Revanth Reddy highlighted the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, outlining the state’s wide range of investment and development opportunities. He also proposed the establishment of a ‘Swiss Mall’ in Hyderabad, a world-first project, which received a positive response from the Swiss delegation.
As both Chief Ministers are football enthusiasts, they also discussed potential partnerships in sports development. Additionally, the Swiss delegation expressed interest in supporting Telangana’s women empowerment initiatives, particularly through self-help groups.
Confirming further engagement, Isabelle Moret, Minister for Industries and Economy of Vaud, announced that a Swiss team would soon visit Hyderabad to study the proposed collaborations.
