As per the AP Reorganisation Act 2014, Division of Power Assets between the two Telugu States with be based on their Geographical location.
AP Genco CMD Vijayanand and Telangana Genco CMD Prabhakar Rao have discussed the bifurcation of assets in a meeting held on Monday and Tuesday. However, The talks weren’t fruitful as Telangana State is against clearing dues to the tune of Rs 900 crore which have to be paid for AP Government.
They didn’t even reach an agreement over on what basis the division of assets should take place – Whether its as per AP Reorganisation Act or Sheila Bedi Committee?
Meanwhile, Hyderabad High Court posted the hearing of the Petitions filed by Telangana Transco & Genco challenging HC Order’s on June 12th suspending the transfer of employees and guidelines issued by the youngest State’s Energy Department. Based on Nativity aspect, Telangana Energy Department has come up with few guidelines and subsequently transferred employees on June 6th.
After the employees filed a petition challenging it, An interim order has been issued by the High Court suspending the GO. Telangana Government claims it has got the powers to transfer the employees as per AP Reorganisation Act 2014.
