Politics in the Telugu states have been relatively stagnant lately, with opposition leaders YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and KCR keeping a low profile. Their limited public engagement had left the political landscape largely in favor of the ruling parties.
However, activity is picking up today, signaling a revival of opposition politics in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
In Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan made a notable appearance at Narsipatnam Medical College, where he is expected to launch a sharp verbal attack on the NDA government regarding the ongoing medical college issue. While Jagan claims credit for establishing these colleges, the ruling party counters his statements with data, arguing that his role was minimal. His remarks during the visit are anticipated to generate statewide attention.
Meanwhile, in Telangana, the BRS initiated the “Chalo Bus Bhavan” protest, led by KTR, against the recent increase in Telangana RTC ticket prices.
With opposition leaders in both states taking active measures on the same day, it marks a politically charged moment for the Telugu states, as the opposition finally reasserts its presence and voice.
