Among the Diwali releases, Dude managed to gross ₹12 crore (net) in the Telugu states within its first week, while K-Ramp collected around ₹10 crore in just five days. In comparison, Telusu Kada could bring in only about ₹8 crore (net) during its opening week, making it the weakest performer among the festive releases.
Despite these underwhelming numbers, the makers recently organized a “success celebration.” Industry personalities like Kona Venkat, SKN, and BVS Ravi attended the event and showered the film with praise, giving the impression that Siddhu had scored yet another hit. Kona Venkat even drew a dramatic comparison, saying that while Hrithik Roshan took 12 films to move past the hangover of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Siddhu did it in just two films after DJ Tillu.
However, the ground reality tells a different story. With back-to-back underperformers — Jack and now Telusu Kada — Siddhu is still struggling to establish himself as a box office draw capable of commanding strong openings on his own.
The massive success of Tillu Square was largely driven by the franchise’s brand appeal, marketing, and timing rather than Siddhu’s individual star power.
Siddhu Jonnalagadda is unquestionably a gifted and creative actor, but unless he acknowledges the reality that Telusu Kada couldn’t even match the openings of certain dubbed films, he risks losing momentum in his promising career.
