Here is some good news for internet users and more particularly those who browse the net on their mobile phones or laptops. The internet users can freely access the internet in Hyderabad from 5:15 pm today (16 th April). ‘Free wifi’ pilot project will be launched by Telangana IT Minister Taraka rama Rao today in Hotel Marriott around 5:15 pm. Union Telecom Minister Ravishanakar Prasad will receive the first video call(facetime) from Minister KTR.
Thus the project will be launched. Net lovers in the city can surf free now in a 10 km radius around Hussainsagar. The free Wi-Fi service will start in phases across the entire city. According to BSNL and Quad Gen officials, the free Wi-Fi can be accessed by 1,800 to 2,500 citizens at a time around the 10 km radius of Hussainsagar. This includes tourist areas like Tank Bund, Lumbini Park and Necklace Road.
The Wi-Fi service will be free for the first 30 minutes of logging in and one can access it at a speed of 2 mbps to 20 mbps.
