After delivering hits like Stree, Bhediya, Munjya and Stree 2, Maddock Films is set to expand its horror-comedy universe with its latest venture, Thama. This time, the cinematic universe gets even bigger with Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui stepping into the world of supernatural fun and thrills. The makers unveiled the much-awaited teaser today, sparking excitement among audiences.
The teaser opens with Ayushmann’s intense voiceover: “Will you be able to live without me for 100 years?” to which Rashmika lovingly replies, “100 years? I can’t live without you for even a second.” The visuals then shift, offering a glimpse into the mysterious and quirky world of Thama. The final reveal introduces Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the menacing villain, raising curiosity about the narrative.
Billed as a vampire comedy, the film showcases Ayushmann as a historian determined to uncover the origins of vampire folklore in India. The story interestingly unfolds across two timelines—one set in the present day and the other in a period backdrop—blending history, fantasy, and humor.
The teaser has already drawn comparisons to Stree and Munjya, and fans are eager to see whether Thama will carry forward Maddock’s winning streak in the horror-comedy genre. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, the film is gearing up for a grand worldwide Diwali release this year.
