Thaman Blames Choreography for Game Changer Songs’ Failure

Game Changer was expected to be a milestone in Ram Charan’s career, but after investing two crucial years at the peak of his stardom, the film turned out to be a disappointment at the box office. Now, music director Thaman has shed light on a significant mistake in the film, offering insight into what may have gone wrong.

Typically, a music director plays a key role in a film’s musical success, but in this case, Thaman has seemingly attributed the underwhelming response to the choreography. Responding to criticism about the film’s songs, he suggested that the dance sequences failed to elevate the music and connect with the audience.

However, a song’s success isn’t determined by choreography alone. Several elements—melody, lyrics, dance moves, the hero’s energy, and overall presentation—need to blend seamlessly to create a memorable track. A perfect example is Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, where the songs became chartbusters not just due to the choreography but also because of their infectious tunes, engaging hooks, and Allu Arjun’s electrifying dance performances.

In contrast, Game Changer failed to achieve this synergy. While choreography may have played a part, blaming it solely for the songs’ lack of impact seems unfair. The film’s overall execution, picturization of the songs, and even the music itself could have contributed to the lukewarm reception. This raises an important question—was it just the dance sequences that faltered, or was Game Changer simply not the musical blockbuster it aspired to be?
