The third installment in James Cameron’s Avatar franchise, which debuted in Indian theatres earlier this month, continues to enjoy a solid and steady run at the domestic box office. Despite receiving mixed reactions from critics and sections of the audience, the film’s commercial performance highlights its wide-reaching appeal across languages, regions, and audience segments.

In the language-wise gross breakup, the English version emerged as the biggest contributor, collecting an impressive ₹76.02 crore. This clearly underlines James Cameron’s enduring pull among urban and premium multiplex audiences. The Hindi version followed closely with ₹57.48 crore, reflecting strong acceptance across the North Indian belt. Southern markets also delivered respectable numbers, with the Tamil version earning ₹25.53 crore and the Telugu version adding ₹15.09 crore to the total.

Even in comparatively smaller markets, Avatar 3 managed to make its presence felt. The Kannada version collected ₹52.65 lakh, while the Malayalam version contributed ₹18.35 lakh, reinforcing the franchise’s pan-Indian reach.

From a state-wise perspective, the North circuit led the charts with a dominant gross of ₹90.92 crore, reaffirming the film’s popularity in multiplex-driven regions. Tamil Nadu stood second with ₹32.55 crore, indicating steady footfalls despite mixed word of mouth. The Telugu states together contributed ₹23.29 crore, while Karnataka registered ₹19.82 crore. Kerala added ₹8.25 crore to the overall tally.

Overall, the film’s sustained performance at the Indian box office once again highlights the global brand value of the Avatar franchise. Even amid divided responses, James Cameron’s vision continues to draw audiences across borders and languages, proving his films remain a theatrical event in the truest sense.
