Going into the story behind Bunny’s getup, it is related to what happened hundreds of years ago. At that time, the Palegondulu used to rule Tirupati and the villages around it. They used to harass women and indulge in brutal attacks and rapes. Gangamma Thalli is born there in order to kill these ruthless people. After growing up, the Palegondulu try to attack her. When Gangamma Thalli starts killing them, some of them run away into the forests. In order to bring them back, the men dress as women and do a Jathara for seven days. When the Palegondulu come out, Gangamma Thalli kills them and serves them justice.
