Let’s go back to the black and white cinema days (1971) when the iconic filmmakers Bapu-Ramana’s Sampoorna Ramayanam shooting has been progressing at a brisk pace in Chennai. Almost 200 people were working on the film sets for the film.
The clock ticked at 6 PM. Veteran actress Jamuna, who played the female lead role, received a call suddenly from her home. After she finished the call, Jamuna went to meet Ramana and said, “Ramana garu, I received a call from home!”
Then Ramana enquired what exactly happened. Jamuna replied,” Sir, my son is crying to go to the beach! I have to leave immediately!”. She even got ready to remove her makeup to leave immediately from the sets.
Ramana said, “See Jamuna garu, if you wouldn’t leave right away, your kid might cry for one hour and then forget about his evening beach plan. But if you leave now, my son may cry for the next 20 years! Please think about what I said.”
Then Jamuna was slightly offended by this statement and realized the importance of the situation about the set, production, and a number of artists working there.
Well, many times, Ramana admitted that being a film’s producer, he had to control lead actors by applying some pressure to complete the shooting smoothly!
