Sobhita Dhulipala is set to return with a compelling, content-driven project titled Chikatilo, a suspense crime thriller that has already generated strong buzz among film enthusiasts. The recently released trailer has caught attention for its dark atmosphere, gritty visuals, and an intense narrative, positioning the film as a serious, performance-oriented thriller.

Notably, Chikatilo marks Sobhita’s first release after her marriage to Naga Chaitanya, which has further amplified curiosity and expectations. Known for her selective approach and unconventional choices, Sobhita once again stays true to her niche by headlining a rooted, strength-driven character.

In the film, Sobhita essays the role of Sandhya, an investigative journalist who also hosts a true-crime podcast and works as a television anchor. The story unfolds around a series of brutal murders rocking the city. When it is revealed that some of the victims are her close friends, Sandhya takes the investigation into her own hands. Her podcast, aptly titled Chikatilo, becomes the primary medium through which she attempts to decode the psychology of a mysterious serial killer.

What sets Chikatilo apart is its contemporary and fresh storytelling approach. The fusion of journalism, podcast culture, and television media lends the narrative a modern edge. The film reportedly avoids commercial clichés, instead focusing on strong writing, realistic emotions, and sustained psychological tension. Having already established herself as an OTT powerhouse with acclaimed projects like Made in Heaven and The Night Manager, Sobhita continues her successful digital streak with Chikatilo. The film is produced by Suresh Productions, with veteran producer D. Suresh Babu backing the project, while Sharan Koppishetty directs the tightly-woven thriller.

Chikatilo is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on January 23, promising an intense and immersive true-crime experience for viewers.
