Tollywood inspires B-Town

Many films in Tollywood may not win awards or attract the attention of other regions. But there are many tollywood films which proved inspiration to B-Town and their top stars reviving the career of many. Bollywood which previously look down south films as ‘sambar-avakaya’ films started appreciating the creativity and are competing with each other to bag the remake rights of successful films. TOp to stay in the list is Salman Khan who after his Dabang success is starring in ‘Kick’. This is the remake of Mass Maharaja Raviteja’s ‘Kick’. Sallu Miya regained his form with Prince Mahesh Babu’s ‘Pokiri’ which he remade it as ‘Wanted’.
Though Amir did not remake a telugu film, his ‘Ghajani’ is a remake of Surya starrer. Even action hero Akshay Kumar who till now used to star in malayalee remakes like ‘Hera Feri’, ‘Bhool Bhulaya’, ‘Bhagam Bhag’, ‘Hey Baby’ and “Katta Meeta’, scored a stunning hit with ‘Rowdy Rathore’ a remake of tollywood superhit ‘Vikramarkudu’ starring Ravi Teja. Buzz is now he is planning to remake Chiranjeevi’s ‘Tagore’. Ajay Devgan also scored a hit with ‘Singham’ a remake of Surya starrer. Now he is starring in ‘Son of Sardar’, a remake of Sunil’s ‘Maryada Ramanna’. His upcoming venture ‘Himmatwala’ is remake of Super Star Krishna’s ‘OOriki Monagadu’. Even Sanjay Dutt is starring in remakes of ‘Dhee’ and then in Balakrishna’s ‘Lakshmi Narasimha’ remake. Even Ritesh Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade and Shahid Kapoor are getting ready to follow their seniors who set the trend of remaking tollywood films.
