The Hon’ble High Court, Madras stayed the FIR registered against Gautham Vasudev Menon. The Directors of Photon Kathaas Production Pvt Ltd and Gautham Vasudev Menon had filed Crl.O.P.No.1234 of 2014 and 1235 of 2014 before the Hon’ble High Court, Madras to quash the FIR No.38 of 2014 registered by Inspector of Police, Central Crime Branch, Egmore, Chennai on a plea that, FIR has been registered at the instance of Jayaraman, Director of RS Infotainment Pvt Ltd on the false premise that Photon Kathaas Production Pvt Ltd has not shared the profits received from Fox Star Studios. Whereas the truth is no profits were made out of the movie Ekk Deewana Tha which is the Hindi remake of the movie Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya and Fox Star Studios has not given any money as profits to Photon Kathaas Production Pvt. Ltd.
Taking all these factors into consideration, the Hon’ble High Court, Madras by its order dated 20.01.2014 was pleased to stay the FIR No.38 of 2014 until 03.02.2014 and issued notice to RS Infotainment Pvt Ltd to appear before Court on said date either in person or through counsel.
