Known as Team India’s most successful captain ever, the stylish Hyderabadi cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin’s rise from a modest background to being one of the most admired cricketers of all time was an inspiration.
However, Azhar found himself in the murky match fixing scandal and lost all his glory and remained a tainted cricketer who ‘sold’ his country. Now, a biopic named Azhar starring Emraan Hashmi will be hitting the screens soon and the trailer was released recently.
The trailer rightly showcases as the glitz, glamour and the setbacks in Azhar’s life, including his married life with his first wife Naureen, played by Prachi Desaii and the Bollywood actress Sangeeta Bijlani, played by Nargis Fakhri.
Recently, Azhar said in a promotional event that he hopes that the country will know the real truth of the unforgettable blot on his cricketing career through this film. Directed by Tony D’Souza, Azhar is slated to release on May 13, 2016.
