With Dhadak 2 creating a significant buzz in Bollywood, Triptii Dimri is all set to deliver yet another impactful performance. Known for her acclaimed roles in Laila Majnu, Bulbbul, Qala, and the blockbuster Animal, Triptii continues to carve her space as one of the most promising talents in the industry. In a candid chat, she shared her thoughts on acting, relationships, social themes, and her personal aspirations as an actor.
Triptii believes the key to performing well in a sequel like Dhadak 2 is to avoid pressure and stay honest to the craft. She says that trusting the director and the team helped her stay focused. Alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and the crew, she worked day by day without overthinking, allowing the process to stay organic and authentic. She credits the collaborative nature of the project for shaping her character, highlighting how co-actors like Siddhant, who is naturally talented, made her reactions more instinctive. She also praised director Shazia Iqbal for being open to ideas, which made the experience even more enriching.
When asked about her views on inter-caste marriages, Triptii acknowledged that though these issues have long existed in villages, they are still prevalent in cities, sometimes in subtle forms. She pointed out that while some people dismiss such biases as ‘normal,’ the emotional toll on those affected is very real. She feels that the encouraging change today is that people are beginning to question these societal norms, a step forward from earlier times when such matters went unchallenged.
Triptii also expressed her eagerness to explore darker, more complex characters. She cited Kajol’s iconic role in Gupt as an example of the kind of negative role she would love to play. She noted that negative characters are no longer just villains but are often layered with grey shades that add depth. She finds the transformation of seemingly gentle actors into intense roles fascinating, showcasing the true magic of acting.
Speaking about the power of cinema, Triptii believes that films can inspire change by providing emotional education and new perspectives. She feels that while a movie can’t change the world overnight, it can certainly influence minds and encourage personal growth. Seeing a character overcome struggles can motivate viewers to reflect and adapt in their own lives.
Triptii Dimri is gearing up for the release of Dhadak 2, and with her growing repertoire of diverse roles, fans are eager to see what she delivers next.
