While both actors have shown strong interest, the key challenge lies in synchronizing their schedules. At present, Trivikram is busy directing Adarsha Kutumbam with Venkatesh. However, this project is considered a relatively small and quick film for the ace filmmaker, taken up ahead of his much more ambitious venture, God of War—a large-scale mythological epic inspired by Lord Karthikeya.
Initially, NTR had given his nod to God of War and was even seen reading books related to Lord Karthikeya as part of his preparation. Co-producer Naga Vamsi had also officially announced the project on social media, confirming NTR’s involvement.
However, recent developments have altered the equation. Allu Arjun has reportedly expressed his willingness to step in if NTR is unable to accommodate the project due to date constraints. NTR is currently committed to Prashanth Neel’s Dragon, which has been progressing steadily.
Sources close to the project suggest that Trivikram personally prefers Allu Arjun for the role of the God of War. The primary reason cited is the film’s potential pan-Indian appeal. With Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun has firmly cemented his dominance in the North Indian market, boasting a reach that rivals even top Bollywood stars. Industry insiders believe this makes him a safer and more commercially viable option.
While NTR also enjoys a strong pan-Indian image and delivered a massive Rs 1000-crore blockbuster with RRR, his subsequent releases—Devara and War 2—reportedly failed to replicate the same level of success. This, sources say, further tips the scale in Allu Arjun’s favor.
That said, the situation remains far from straightforward. Allu Arjun has already committed to a film with Lokesh Kanagaraj, officially announced as his 23rd project (AA23). If he prioritizes Lokesh’s film, Trivikram may have to wait longer—something the director is reportedly reluctant to do.
Insiders reveal that Trivikram plans to take God of War on floors immediately after wrapping up Adarsha Kutumbam. If Allu Arjun is to headline the project, he would either need to complete the Lokesh Kanagaraj film swiftly or defer it.
With scheduling conflicts at the heart of the matter, it remains to be seen whether Trivikram will ultimately move forward with NTR or Allu Arjun for this highly anticipated mythological epic.
