Rahul Gandhi Launches Vote Rights Yatra

Rahul Gandhi is set to launch a major political campaign against what he describes as widespread voter suppression. He claims that millions of genuine voters have been removed from the electoral rolls in Bihar ahead of the upcoming elections. To draw attention to this issue, he will begin a 16-day march called the Vote Rights Yatra (Vote Adhikar Yatra) starting this Sunday from Sasaram. The march will cover over 1,300 kilometers across 20 districts, aiming to mobilize citizens similar to his earlier Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Rahul emphasizes that voting is a fundamental right, not a privilege, and that no government or election authority should deny it to citizens. He has accused the Election Commission of acting in ways worse than thieves. Supporters believe this campaign could gather national attention and put significant pressure on authorities.

In parallel, Youth Congress workers have launched the Ghar Ghar Abhiyan initiative, going door to door to verify voter lists and ensure that every family’s vote is accounted for. With the slogan “One Person, One Vote,” the initiative seeks to protect citizens’ ballots and raise awareness about voter suppression.

Rahul is also taking the fight to digital platforms. Through short films and online videos, he is highlighting instances of voter fraud. One popular video, The Missing Vote, shows a man reporting his missing ballot to the police, only for the officers to discover that their own votes are also missing. The video has gone viral, amassing millions of views, likes, and comments, reflecting the strong public response to the issue.
