Gone are those days when there are ample number of distributors in Nizam area quoting reasonable prices from small to big films. Many of them have to move on to other businesses after facing huge loss in film distribution, leaving all the Nizam distribution in two producers’ hands.
One of famous producer, almost a ‘king’ in distribution business and the other is a distributor who got hold of almost 120 theatres in Nizam. Any movie that has be released in Nizam must go through these four hands. It is heard that these unofficial distributor duo is buying the rights as per their share of months and any rate they fix at one point is final.
Many producers who could not release a film on their own have no choice except to bend for these distributor duo’s fixed price. Earlier producers used to sell the rights on NRA system that gives maximum risk to distributor, but lately, the tables are turned and the distribution is going on with advance system, leaving producer at maximum risk, thanks to the two distributors.
Big ticket films and top producers are not any exception when it comes to Nizam distribution and the price fixed by these two distributors stays final anyway. Even if they want to release the film on their own, any other films distributed by these two will occupy all the theatres, which leaves the producers back at square one. The two distributors become super powers in Nizam distribution and we have to wait and see when this dictatorship ends!
